Wendy White was born in England in 1959. After a career in administration and finance she finally started her chosen career as an artist and teacher by attending Southampton Solent University as a mature student in 2012. After graduating in 2015 with a 1st class hons. she went on to work as an artist and tutor alongside exhibiting in group and solo exhibitions locally in Hampshire.

Wendy works predominantly in egg tempera creating landscape paintings inspired by the 'genius loci' or sense of place of a location. Her research consists of visiting a place, looking into the history and geography of the area, talking to locals and creating notes and sketches. She then creates the work back in the studio which is currently in her campervan 'Angus'.

Wendy White feels everyone should have access to fine art and be able to own a personal artwork. To help achieve this she created a body of work inspired by the public right of way The Itchen Navigation in 2017 and another in 2021 inspired by The Solent Way. The small paintings were left in situ as a free treasure hunt. This is something she intends to do yearly once in Wales.

Wendy is also fascinated by hybrid landscapes where natural and man made structures share the same space. Often the two ellements create a tension with surprising results which she enjoys the challenge of representing in her work.

Wendy is relocating with her husband to north Wales in 2025 and looking forward to creating work inspired by the diverse Welsh landscape and continuing her teaching inspiring others to create art.
